If you answered "Yes" to any of the above questions, then a career as an insurance and/or takaful broker will be of interest to you.
Insurance and/or takaful brokers in Malaysia represent all registered insurance companies and takaful operators that offer a variety of insurance policies to their clients. Broker companies may vary in size from 15 to over 200 employees. Brokers advise their clients on the best insurance policies to meet their individual needs.
Brokers in Malaysia must be approved by Bank Negara Malaysia under the Financial Services Act 2013 and/or under the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 in order to conduct business.
While it is not mandatory to have either a university degree or college diploma to pursue this career but nevertheless, to become a broker you must first be gainfully employed as an employee of an insurance and/or takaful broking firm and have successfully completed the Basic Certificate Course in Insurance and Takaful Broking (BCCITB) examination conducted by MII.
